Testing On Animals

My Dad has just asked me a question do you accept testing things for animals on animals? the simple answer is i don't know. I've never actually thought about it as it has never occurred to me, it's really got me thinking. I mean, is it okay? Would it be more acceptable if human products were tested on humans?

I'm going to think more about this & I'm really interested as to what you all think? Let me know in the comments

  1. Oh god that is a bit of a brain muddler... I think I would probably still say no, just because they can never consent to being a test subject, whereas humans can sign up for it and they know the dangers and things and even get money in return sometimes!

I'm now following you, I've got a cruelty free blog too :)

  2. I think it's acceptable if it's necessary. Just like human drug trials before the drugs go to market. Obviously the main difference is that a human gets a choice whereas animals can't sign a consent form. If there were no testing on animals at all there would be a lot less potentially life saving medication around for both species. Testing cosmetics on animals is not necessary but cheap and efficient. I don't support the cosmetic industry but I do support the pharmaceutical industry.

    1. Hi!

I've been thinking about it & I don't think it's acceptable as like you have said humans can consent animals can't.

I'm not sure how I feel on the whole pharmaceutical thing but I definately don't agree with testing cosmetics & other products on animals.
